Huawei Sheds Lights on its 2018 Plans in Saudi Arabia

At Huawei’s Partners Summit held today at Ritz Carlton Riyadh, Huawei Consumer Business Group brought its achievements in the Saudi market throughout the year of 2017 to light and showcased its plans in the Saudi market for this year 2018. During the Summit which was held under the slogan of “Open, Cooperation, Success”, which was attended by 600 clients and partners, Huawei awarded its partners, promising them more commitment and stronger Saudi product-market fit. President of Huawei Consumer Business Group Saudi Arabia, Mr. Pablo Ning said: “Huawei Consumer Business Group has been in the Saudi market for many years, and we are proud of the achievements in Saudi Arabia during these years and especially last year 2017. This success would never see the light without our cooperation with our clients and partners in the Saudi market. Year after year, we have been constantly working towards launching and providing products that fit all types of tastes and meet all needs of our users in the Saudi market. We have had their needs and demands in mind to be the main engine that drives the company’s growth in the Kingdom. Also, through our research and innovation centers, we have always been developing the most advanced and highest quality products, which led to growing Huawei’s share to 20.9% in the Saudi market of smartphones till end of February 2018 according to GFK, and we are committed to provide more innovative products during this year of 2018. Regarding brand awareness recognition and reputation it’s growing among local consumers, he added: overall global brand awareness increased from 81% in 2016 to 86% in 2017. In Saudi, our brand awareness grew from 51% in 2015 to 86% in 2017”.

According to YouGov index for brands evaluation, Huawei saw a great growth in reputation and customer loyalty in Saudi Arabia after growing its index significantly by 19.5% and was placed among the 10 best brands which made great improvements, which was achieved by constant work on its enhancing its reputation and results year after year.

Additionally, at the Saudi tablets market, Huawei obtained first place in 2017 with a market share exceeding 30%. According to some studies, 1 out of every 4 tablets sold in Saudi Arabia is from Huawei's tablet devices, reflecting the confidence built in this market and the desire of users in the Kingdom to use Huawei devices that are known for their strong performance and high quality.

Meanwhile, Huawei has long been focusing on innovation and developing value products for the sector, markets and consumers, where it invests more than 10% of its annual revenues in research and development and has more than 79 thousand employees in R&D worldwide. Moreover, the company comes 6th among multinational companies in R&D spending in the 2017 list of the European Commission, where the company’s investments in this field reached $45 billion throughout the past ten years. In 2017 alone, Huawei had invested around 13 Billion dollars in R&D. Regarding quality, Huawei has built the company culture and quality assurance system to always prioritize quality and has internal quality standards that are even more strict than some global standards that are followed in the sector.

During the Summit, Huawei had highlighted on the anticipated flagship smartphone that the Saudi market is waiting HUAWEI P20 Pro, the first smartphone features Leica triple camera and achieved DxOMark’s highest overall scores and the devices include unprecedented AI advances, combining technology and art to bring to life a groundbreaking smartphone experience. A timeless design with barely-there bezels and all-new gradient colors; ultimate performance, featuring the NPU on Kirin 970 and EMUI 8.1 based on Android™ 8.1 for a premium and smooth user experience.

It is worth to mention that Huawei launched its smartphone “nova 3e” in the Saudi markets at the end of last month, which saw a great turnout from users who are looking for exceptional features with a competitive price. Furthermore, Huawei prepares to launch a set of new advanced devices in the Saudi markets during the months of April and May. Such devices include “HUAWEI P20 Pro”, “HUAWEI MediaPad M5” tablet and the new laptop “HUAWEI Matebook X Pro”
