Aakash Deep Singh, a 13-year-old grade 8 student from The Millennium School, Dubai won five gold medals at the CBSE National Swimming Championship, held at Rishikul Vidyapeeth School Sonepath, India, held last month.

 

The CBSE National Swimming Championship is one of the most prestigious meets recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India. The meet is held every year in India allowing young talented swimmers studying in CBSE curriculum schools across the globe to showcase their skills and talents.

 

Honored with the title of Individual Champion, Akash Deep won laurels for the 50 metres, 100 metres Backstroke, 100 metres, 200 metres Freestyle and in the Aquathlon for boys in the under 14 age category.

 

Michael Guzder, Executive Principal, The Millennium School and Vice-President, GEMS Indian Schools, said: “At The Millennium School, we are thrilled to see young pupils like Aakash Deep rising to the top and excelling in their field. We will be felicitating him at a special assembly where he will be awarded the Prefectorial Badge, a memento and the school blazer to inspire other students to do well.”

 

Previously, Akash Deep has won medals at the Punjab State Swimming Championship and 44th Junior National Aquatic Championship.
