AND LAUNCHES THE FIRST CAT CAFÉ IN FUJAIRAH

 Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa and Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi have joined forces to look after the resort’s feline residents, and started their first project of cat feeding stations and sterilization programme.

The first Cat Café in Fujairah Emirate debuted at Fujairah Rotana with six designated feeding stations for the roughly 10 cats that made the resort their home. With both managements and colleagues’ efforts, cats’ welfare is taken care with a team of 12 colleagues who checks daily on the feeding stations and cats’ health.

This initiative which started about a month ago has become a hit with the resort’s guests, who stop by through the day to pet the cats. They also keep in contact with the resort through its different social media channels to check about their preferred cat.

“We are proud to announce our collaboration with the Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi. Being part of our duty to give back to the community which falls under our Rotana’s core brand value of “LIFE”, we have created our own Cat Café. We hope that this initiative which is the first to be applied in Fujairah Emirate will improve the animal welfare and vision in Fujairah Emirate”, said Mrad El Khoury, General Manager of Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa.

Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi is a non-profit community project to encourage and assist individuals to help animals in need. Founded in April 2015 by Dr. Susan Aylott, Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi is a community based programme aimed at improving the lives of animals in Abu Dhabi. Run entirely by volunteers, the organization actively encourages community participation to help all animals in need. With a hand on approach Animal Welfare Abu Dhabi assists with the provision of food, water and shelter where possible and advocates a comprehensive trap, neuter and Return (TNR) programme; training and education being the forefront of their mission.
