 flyadeal, Saudi Arabia’s Everyday Low Fares Airline, this week celebrated a major milestone by organising a surprise event for its one millionth passenger at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on 23rdJuly -- exactly ten months since the airline launched operations on last year’s National Day, September 23rd. 

This remarkable achievement in the airline’s short history is evidence of how quickly flyadealhas won hearts across the Kingdom with its unique proposition of low fares coupled with service delivered with smiles. 

On Monday 23rdJuly, Mr. Abdulrahman AlMubarak was the millionth passenger of flyadealtravelling from Riyadh to Jeddah to accompany his wife and children on their flight back home from Jeddah. It was his fourth trip as a regular flyadeal passenger.

Hours before the arrival of the millionth passenger, flyadeal representatives roamed the terminal carrying a sign that read ‘Are you the millionth?’. To prompt the curiosity of onlookers, they also tested a sparkling purple jacket on randomly selected travellers to “check” if they were the millionth. 

When Abdulrahman AlMubarak arrived, he was surprised at the check-in gate with a fun reception that brought smiles to his face. Subsequently, he was given a unique red carpet reception all the way to the Departures Hall where he was greeted by the company’s CEO, Con Korfiatis, Riyadh Airport management team and other travellers. During the ceremony the company’s CEO, Con Korfiatis, handed Mr. AlMubarak a 25,000 Saudi Riyadh voucher to use in his future trips on flyadeal. A simple ‘thank you’ for being the company’s millionth passenger.

Mr. Abdulrahman Almubarak expressed his delight and surprise at being the lucky millionth passenger on flyadeal. "When I arrived at the airport, I had no idea what a wonderful surprise was in store. This is a special occasion in flyadeal’s history and it gives me great pleasure to be a part of it. I’ve flown flyadeala number of times since it launched last year. They are really make a difference. Their low fares have made it convenient for everyone in the Kingdom to take a flight. And their smiling service is the icing on the cake! I’d like to thank flyadeal for the voucher I’ve received, and I can’t wait to fly to international destinations with them whenever they get started!”

The Director General of King Khalid International Airport, Engineer Sulaiman Al-Teraif, congratulated the one millionth passenger. He also praised flyadeal’smany accomplishments in such a short period of time.
