Floris Launches Patchouli Exclusively at Rubaiyat in Jeddah

Exclusively available at Rubaiyat, Floris London has created Patchouli, an exquisite fragrance developed under the guidance of 9th generation Perfumery Director Edward Bodenham, who was inspired by the mellow early hours of a Chelsea studio in London, circa 1967, a time of burgeoning creative energy.

Patchouli by Floris is a celebration of this renowned oriental ingredient with notes both potent and elegant, embodying mysticism and a rare contemporary sophistication. The soft, creamy, coconut milk top note accord is set to contrast with the dark and mysterious character of the patchouli that works throughout the development of the fragrance. Touches of iris, rose and ylang ylang lift the heart whilst cedarwood emboldens the woody theme. Amber and resins continue the dark theme through to the base while traces of vanilla round off the edges of this harmonious scent.

Patchouli is the most powerful of all the plant derived ingredients available to a perfumer. The finest oil extracted comes from the three or four top pairs of leaves, where the highest concentration is found. Once cut, they are turned frequently to prevent the leaves from breaking down too quickly.

Part of the Floris Private Collection, this exclusive fragrance has been adorned with a unique box to celebrate the partnership between Floris and Rubaiyat, the Kingdom’s prestigious retailer of fashion, fragrances and luxury goods.

Floris was founded in 1730 by Juan Famenias Floris who together with his wife Elizabeth began selling perfume, combs and shaving products in the elegant quarter of London’s St James. The Floris shop they opened at 89 Jermyn Street remains the heart of the business and is still run by their descendants.
