Dubai Customs organizes awareness event for kids in KidZania

Dubai Customs organized an awareness event for kids in cooperation with the UAE Red Crescent. The event took place at the edutainment center KidZania in Dubai Mall and included a workshop on how to protect intellectual property rights and Dubai Customs’ role in protecting society from the perils of counterfeit materials.

This comes within IPR summer 2017event which was launched by the IPR Department to raise children’s awareness around IPR violations and how to protect society from the spread of counterfeit products.

180 kids actively took part in the event in Dubai Mall where they asked questions and were involved in topics related to innovation and registration of new ideas to protect them.

Yousef Ozair Mubarak, Director of IPR Department pointed out that Dubai Customs gives great attention to raising awareness amongst younger generations in order to encourage them to innovate and qualify them to lead the way to the future.

“We are inspired by the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai who stressed the importance of equipping the children with the best skills and knowledge so that they can keep abreast of the fast changing modern world” Ozair said.

“We share knowledge with the kids in a simple way, and the summer event is an opportunity to reach out for a maximum number of kids. With the help of the UAE Red Crescent we organized a number of functions to raise children’s awareness and make them real partners in protecting our society from the hazards of counterfeit products” he added.
