Dubai Culture Supports DEWA’s ‘Let’s Make this Summer Green’ Campaign

Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, has announced that for the second year running it is supporting Dubai Electricity & Water Authority’s (DEWA) ‘Let's Make this Summer Green’ environmental awareness campaign.

As part of the ongoing collaboration between the two entities, Dubai Culture hosted an awareness corner at the Al Twar branch of Dubai Public Library to raise public awareness about the importance of preserving the environment. The event was designed to support Dubai's vision of a clean and healthy environment and took place on 11th July from 9am to 1:30pm.

During the event, DEWA employees interacted with community members at the awareness corner and encouraged them to conserve electricity and water during the summer months, also distributing gifts among the visitors.

The ‘Let's Make this Summer Green’ campaign runs alongside Dubai Culture’s ‘Our Summer is Filled with Culture & Arts’ programme for Dubai Public Library, which offers a range of activities that help children to develop their skills and make the most of their time away from school during the summer break.

The Dubai Public Library network includes eight libraries for adults and another seven for children. Some branches feature multi-purpose halls, classrooms and exhibition spaces and all branches of the Dubai Public Library are connected via computer systems. This has established close links with other modern libraries, providing access to vast sources of information on a diversity of topics in both Arabic and English.
