Dubai Culture Successfully Concludes its Dubai Public Library ‘Back to School’ Programme

Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, has successfully concluded its Dubai Public Library ‘Back to School’ programme – an annual one-day event that encourages children to begin the school year with a love for reading and a passion to learn. A total of 150 children benefited from the programme, which took place across the city and is part of Dubai Culture’s ongoing efforts to support the UAE National Strategy for Reading 2026.

The one-day event was held across the Al Twar, Al, Hor Al Anz, and Rashidiya branches of the Dubai Public Library, where children gathered to enjoy a variety of enriching activities including reading, story writing, games, and competitions. The activities were designed for children between the ages of six and twelve, and were hosted by expert members of the Dubai Public Library team to ensure that all participants enjoyed a fun and educational experience.

The Dubai Public Library network includes eight libraries for adults and another seven for children. Some branches feature multi-purpose halls, classrooms and exhibition spaces and all branches of the Dubai Public Library are connected via computer systems. This has established close links with other modern libraries, providing access to vast sources of information on a diversity of topics in both Arabic and English.
