‘Dubai Culture’ Invites the Public to Celebrate Eid Al Fitr at Al Fahidi Historical

Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage, is inviting the public to participate in a series of events and activities at Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood on the first and second days of Eid Al Fitr, aiming to promote the UAE's culture and national identity.

The celebrations will include several folk performances such as Al Ayyala folk performance and UAE handicrafts including thread weaving (Al Talli), palm frond braiding (Saf AlKhos), veil making (Burqa), silver crafting and fragrance making (Dhukhoon). There will also be a heritage corner made of Al Arish, which will include heritage accessories and authentic Arabian hospitality such as coffee and dates for all visitors.

Nasser Juma, Manager of Al Shindagha Historical Neighborhood and Acting Manager of Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood at Dubai Culture, commented: “These celebrations are part of Dubai Culture's aim to provide a variety of cultural and entertainment events for visitors to the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood in support of our mission to contribute positively to people’s happiness in the Emirate. We will provide visitors with a fun and joyful atmosphere, helping us to share the UAE’s culture and traditions with all segments of society.”

There will be a specialised expert at the handicraft corner to answer all visitor questions, contributing to achieving important Dubai Culture objectives including attracting more tourists and visitors to introduce them to UAE’s traditions.

Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors.
