DPQ COMMUNICATIONS REBRANDS AS Q COMMUNICATIONS

Dubai-based integrated PR and digital communications consultancy, DPQ Communications has rebranded as Q Communications as it announces a bold and exciting new operation in Abu Dhabi, the first step in its expansion programme across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

The consultancy has expanded quickly since launching in Dubai in 2010 and now employs a 20-strong team. Building on this growth, the company has launched a brand new identity, which reflects its future ambitions and standing in the market. Q Communications is a strong name and with it brings a sophisticated identity, which better reflects the personality and direction of the business.

With clients including Lush, Jumeirah Restaurant Group, Shangri La Hotels, Accor Group and Tweezerman, DPQ Communications is renowned for original and highly impactful campaigns. Utilising this excellent reputation, and with ambitious plans for GCC expansion, the founding members, Elsa Roodt and Katie Harvey see Abu Dhabi as the next strong and prosperous market to break into.

Q Communications ME, as the Abu Dhabi office will be known, will open on 1st October in twofour54 – a hub for leading marketing, PR and media agencies and one of the fastest-growing media free zones – and will provide fully integrated public relations, social media, digital and event services.

Elsa Roodt, director and co-founder of Q Communications commented: “Abu Dhabi has an outstanding business environment and for us there was no doubt our second office should be there.

“It is a city of innovation and vision and provides a huge business opportunity for Q Communications ME. The move into this market is the first step in our expansion plans to branch out across the whole GCC.

“The PR industry in Abu Dhabi has exploded in recent years and we have spent the last 12 months getting a real understanding of the market and looking at where the demand lies. The hospitality sector is expanding and thriving and this provides an excellent opportunity for Q Communications ME with our unrivalled experience within this sector.

“Key international media outlets such as the Financial Times and CNN are also headquartered in Abu Dhabi and there is a large and fast-growing youth segment, which means digital media usage is surging. We absolutely had to capitalise on this.”

Talking about the new team, Katie Harvey, director and co-founder of Q Communications, said: “We’ve been working behind the scenes over the last few months building a strong team to run Q Communications ME. It is absolutely essential they not only share our values and vision, but that they are extremely passionate and committed to making it a success. Kate Greville, our new Abu Dhabi director is a great talent who joins us from the award-winning UK agency, Tangerine where she was associate director.

“Our team will bring global knowledge, experience of working with some of the world’s most well-known brands and talent, as well as cutting-edge techniques. We’re really excited to announce the team over the next couple of weeks, so watch this space.”
