Concert series kicks off in Jeddah

Saudi-Iraqi singer and composer Majed El Mohandes and popular Kuwaiti singer Nabil Shuail headed the opening night of 10 concerts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during Eid holiday.

The concert supported by the General Culture Authority (GCA) in cooperation with Rotana Records at the event’s main entertainment area located at Al Jawhara Stadium (King Abdullah Sports Complex).

According to organizers nine male and six female stars will perform in 10 concerts across three major cities running from June 16 to June 23.

Riyadh, the capital, will host five concerts while the Red Sea city of Jeddah will have three and Dammam, the largest city in the Eastern Province, will feature two. All concerts are supported by the state-run General Culture Authority.

On Sunday night, the two famous GCC singers honored the audience with a repertoire from their past and latest albums.

Kicking off the night, Nabil Shuail, nicknamed “The Nightingale of the Gulf ”, who came onstage at 10:00 p.m., performed some of his best hits including “Gani, Ma Arwak, Manasak, and Ya Asaal.”

The Saudi- Iraqi heartthrob attracted hundreds of fans, young and old, stirring their emotions with his sultry songs and getting more than a few groups dancing to the catchy tunes Bayni W Baynak and Saharni Hawaha.

Rotana brings together the stars of Arabic songs in 10 concerts in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The following concerts in Eid will be performed by top singers Hussein Al Jasmi, Asala Nasri , Abdullah Al-Ruwaished, Abadi Al-Jawhar, Mohammed Abdo, Rashed Al Majid, Rabah Sakr, Nawal Al Kuwaiti, Angham, Dalia Mubarak and Carmen Suleiman.
