Cartoon Network Arabic encourages kids to be inspired by their favourite cities with Creative Generation 2015

Cartoon Network Arabic, one of the leading children’s entertainment channels in the MENA region, will be conducting its hugely successful Creative Generation Competition for the fourth consecutive year. The Creative Generation campaign requires children from schools across the MENA region to submit a drawing based on introducing Emirati character Mansour and all their favourite Cartoon Network characters to their city. The campaign started on the 21st of September and will come to an end on the 8th of November.

The competition will be judged across three age brackets: 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. Children throughout the region can enter by submitting their drawing to the Creative Generation microsite on Cartoon Network Arabic’s webpage (www.CartoonNetworkArabic.com/CreativeGeneration). Apart from this students can also submit their artwork to the schools which will be visited, thus entering the competition through them. Campaign promoters will begin visits to the participating schools in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar in October to give the children hands on explanation on how the competition will run as well as hand out booklets which details information for the students on the competition.

Mansour, one of the most intriguing characters featured on Cartoon Network Arabic, is a friendly and intelligent Emirati boy who teaches youth about the importance of Arabic language, healthy lifestyle, careers and culture. For 2015’s Creative Generation Competition, Mansour and friends will be encouraging children to view the city around them and appreciate the best aspects of their local culture in a creative way.

Tarek Mounir, General Manager, Turner Broadcasting System Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, Greece and Cyprus said: “The Creative Generation Competition has received incredible response over the past few years. The most impressive aspect has been the brilliant pieces of artwork we have received from young Cartoon Network enthusiasts. The standard and talent of students who enter the competition is very high and we see the bar being raised every year. The competition is geared towards stimulating creativity amongst youth in the region in an entertaining and interactive manner.”

Rashed Al Harmoodi, Creator and Executive Producer of Mansour, said: “We are thrilled to partner with the Creative Generation Competition for the second year running as it is a wonderful way to inspire artistic talent in children. We can’t wait to see these cities and characters like Mansour reimagined through the eyes of our viewers, and, who knows, possibly inspire some future animators.”

At the end of the contest, 45 lucky winners across all the countries and age groups will be awarded an HD waterproof camera and a Cartoon Network Certificate. Three winners will be chosen from every age category in each of the countries, hence nine individuals from a single nation, and three winners from each age group amongst online participants will be selected. The winners will be determined by a panel of officials from Cartoon Network and Mansour Cartoon.
