Arabia CSR Network to conduct training on CSR Strategy and Leadership

It is always a challenge to develop the right kind of CSR and sustainability strategy that is geared to bring benefits to both the business and to society. Organisations that have worked out the formula to create high impact sustainability strategies are able to use their business to promote environmental governance and societal issues. It is also important to be aware of the requisite leadership skills and capacities that would propel an organisation to greater heights of performance in CSR and sustainability. The CSR Strategy and Leadership training, to be held from April 11-13 in Dubai, will unpack all these crucial elements. The training is being organised by Arabia CSR Network, the region’s premier institution that has accosted the corporate world to high quality courses to the public including the GRI Sustainability Reporting, CSR Fundamentals and CSR Advanced.. The three day course will enhance conceptual knowledge and build capabilities to make CSR and sustainability a strategic pursuit.

Speaking about the course Arabia CSR Network President and CEO Habiba Al Marashi said, “CSR and sustainability are no longer external fits to an organisation’s activities, but linked to the core business, vision and missions. CSR and sustainability practitioners have begun to articulate the benefits that it brings to the business through the means of sustainable value creation. In today’s competitive world it is not enough to be successful in the market; it is equally important to be recognised by society for responsible and sustainable leadership. The course will explain to the delegates the nuances in strategy formulation for maximum impact, and highlight what leaders need to know to drive their business to adopt sustainable models.”

The training will be delivered by Karin Ireton, who was the former chair of GRI’s Stakeholder Council and serves on South Africa’s Integrated Reporting Committee. Karin chairs the Institute of Directors’ sustainable development forum and is also among the jury of the prestigious Arabia CSR Awards and in the board of the Sharaka initiative.
