Almarai and KFU honor Vet Award winners

This week, Prof. Mohammed Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Rector of King Faisal University “KFU” patronized the annual celebration of Almarai’s Veterinarian Prize sponsored by Almarai Company. Saudi Veterinary Association supervises the Prize since 2009. The rector handed over certificates of appreciation to the winners of the Prize branches in recognition by Almarai Company, the Saudi Veterinary Association, and KFU of their glorious works and remarkable accomplishment in their domain.

 

Professor Ahmed Ali Al-Luaimi, Ex-Professor of Veterinary Medicine, KFU, won this year’s prize in veterinary and community service category. Dr. Tareq Alzedjali and Dr. Glenda Al-Maouli from Oman won the prize in the GCC veterinarian category. Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Ali and Dr. Abdullah Al-Jalsi from Saudi Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) won the prize in the distinguished Saudi veterinarian category. Dr. Omran Rifaat from Agriculture and Veterinary College, Qassim University and Dr. Sabry Al-Bahr, College of Veterinary, KFU, won the prize of distinguished researcher category. 

 

On this occasion, KFU Rector said that he commends multitude of prizes in the competitions that won domestic, regional and international reputation. But he thinks that Almarai Veterinarian Prize has had underpinned the scientific and professional aspect of veterinary medicine practice in Saudi Arabia and GCC States which imparts it a wide regional acclaim.

 

Al-Ohali added that this valuable is an initiative from Almarai in contribution to scientific research and educational institutions. It is a model for corporates that established the concept of social responsibility. The company also supports Almarai Prize for Scientific Innovation that aims to promote inventors, scientists, and researchers in Saudi Arabia.

 

On his part, Dr. Faisal Al-Mezen, the Prize Secretary General, said we as veterinarians appreciate and thank Almarai for paying tribute to those who are outstanding in veterinary medicine locally and regionally through this prize. He added that Almarai Company represented by its Board Chairman, His Highness Prince Sultan bin Mohamed bin Saud Al-Kabir, is pioneer in supporting science, scientists, and scientific research in Saudi Arabia through allocating prizes and activities in the direction.

 

Abdullah Al-Otaibi, Almarai’s Public Relations Manager, said that Almarai is proud of sponsoring this prize, which is created and grew in a principal pioneering school of veterinary in Saudi Arabia and the GCC region. Al-Otaibi added that Almarai’s sponsorship of this prize of animal wealth safety comes from the understanding of the importance of this crucial domain in boosting national food security.

 

It is noteworthy that Almarai’s Veterinian Prize, which was launched in 2010, aims to highlight the vital role of played by veterinians, protect animal health in Saudi Arabia, and show the shining face of veterinary medicine profession

 

The company also sponsors Almarai Prize for Scientific Innovation, which was launched in 2001, in collaboration with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology “KACST”. This prized is concerned with supporting science, scientists and researchers of Saudi Arabia in basic sciences, applied sciences, development, and innovation.

 

     In addition to Almarai Prize for Studious Excellence, which is dedicated to K1-12 public education students from in the GCC States. The prize was launched in 2006. It aims to motivate outstanding students, develop their abilities and skills, and sustain their excellent achievement. .
