Abu Dhabi University launched a series of free community-focused initiatives

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has launched a series of online courses under its latest initiative entitled ‘Investing in our Community’. The initiative kicked off in July and continued throughout the month of August. It delivered a number of workshops and educational sessions aimed at teachers, working professionals, and high school seniors, it also guided students interested in pursuing higher education. The workshops offered free of charge, provided a wide range of support, helping participants to enhance their technical, business, and personal skills. The sessions covered a broad range of topics, including how to prepare for standardized tests and exams, university and program selection, general career guidance, principles of time management, exploration of career opportunities in nutrition and dietetics, as well as innovative organizations’ development.

 

 

 

Salem Mubarak Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of Community Relations at ADU affirmed that the University’s initiatives reflect its mission to serve the community and spreading knowledge among all, and is a testament to ADU’s commitment to promoting the intellectual development of the society and providing an interactive educational environment that helps its members develop their personal and practical skills. He commented: “Students and faculty are a community of scholars, pursuing knowledge supported by a great team of professional staff. The ‘Investing in our Community’ initiative articulates ADU’s commitment to the collective intellectual development of our community and provided them with an engaging learning environment to develop their personal and professional skills. Abu Dhabi University’s success stems from its students and faculty, and we will continue to invest in their capabilities, harness their skills, and help them achieve their full potential.”

 

 

 

Throughout the month of July, the ‘Investing in our Community’ initiative delivered 48 workshops; of which 9 workshops were delivered by the College of Arts and Science, 13 workshops delivered by the College of Business, 5 workshops delivered by the College of Health Sciences, 13 workshops delivered by the College of Engineering, 4 workshops by the College of Law, and 4 workshops by Students Affairs. The workshops were attended by 7,200 participants through ZOOM Webinar. It witnessed great interaction and vital participation receiving over 5,000 questions and 4,500 chat messages and reached a number of views through Facebook of 55,000.  

 

 

 

During the month of August, 32 workshops were delivered, that tapped into a myriad of interesting topics including but not limited to: achieving financial stability, developing interpersonal skills, creativity and innovation, university life and developing communications skills, well-being and public health, and many others.
