Abu Dhabi hosts the 1st International Gulf Conference of Obstetrics & Gynecology

Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohamed Al Hamed, Chairman of Department of Health (DoH), Abu Dhabi hosts the 1st International Gulf Conference of Obstetrics & Gynecology organized by Danat Al Emarat Hospital and HealthPlus Fertility, part of United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical), on 15 and 16 of February 2018 at Rotana Yas Island Hotel in Yas Island. With over 23 experts and speakers, 300 physicians and healthcare professionals from UAE and the region are expected to attend the conference.

 

His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamed stated, “Healthcare services provided for women and children witnessed significant improvements thanks to the guidance and unlimited support of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak “Mother of the Nation”, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation; which contributed to the eradication of many diseases and the reduction of infections amongst children.”

 

His Excellency further added, “The recent decision to establish an Early Childhood Sector Committee by the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi which was issued recently by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Council, aims to provide the highest quality of healthcare for women and children in parallel with best international medical practice. This demonstrates Abu Dhabi government’s priorities on continually improving healthcare services provided to women and children.”

 

Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, CEO and Managing Director of UEMedical said, “We are keen on holding such conferences and scientific meetings, which are primarily aimed at exchanging knowledge, providing continuous medical education to the medical community, and keeping them informed on the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and to help transfer global expertise to the region on the latest treatments used for women and the various fertility treatments. This comes in line with the strategies of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) to improve healthcare services in the Emirate.”

 

The two-day conference includes six scientific sessions led by 23 experts and speakers from the Faculty of Medicine at United Arab Emirates University, Corniche Hospital, Al Zahra Hospital in Dubai, Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children and HealthPlus Fertility in addition to an international speaker from Switzerland. Alongside the scientific conference, an exhibition will be held showcasing the latest technologies and innovations in the field of obstetrics, gynecology and fertility.”

 

From his side, the President of the Conference, Dr. Islam Sidky, Obstetrics & Gynecology Consultant, and Minimally Invasive Surgeon at Danat Al Emarat Hospital said, “the scientific sessions will concentrate on new technologies related to mental health and hormonal changes in women, gynecological problems, blood pressure, diabetes during pregnancy, kidney diseases, urinary incontinence in women, monitoring fetus development, and the latest technologies in fertility and IVF. In addition, we will discuss endoscopic surgeries and the importance of vaccinations in preventing cervical cancer and more.”

 

“This conference is a unique platform to network with a large number of experts in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology, as well as in fertility, and pre-implantation genetic testing and screenings. Moreover, a number of common chronic diseases in women will be covered during the 2-day conference such as endometriosis, fibroids and more,” Dr. Sidky concluded.

 

The two-day conference, organized by EMA Conferences International, is accredited for 12 hours of Continuous Medical Education (CME).
