Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, the authorized distributor of Toyota vehicles in Saudi Arabia, has introduced the new Toyota Yaris 2018 with its innovative, contemporary appearance to the Kingdom. The launch event was held at the Park Hyatt Jeddah, with Chief Engineer of the new Yaris, Mr. Takatomo Suzuki, and a number of senior officials from Abdul Latif Jameel Motors in attendance. Also on hand were a number of the company’s business partners and a crowd of media representatives.

 

Addressing those in attendance at the launch, the Chief Marketing Officer at Abdul Latif Jameel Motors, Mr. Mazen Jameel, explained that the new model sports a range of unique features making an appearance for the very first time on a Yaris. Already one of the Kingdom’s most popular models, the improvements in the Yaris 2018 will only serve to further cement its popularity.

 

“The Toyota Yaris 2018 is proof of Toyota’s commitment to listening to its guests and meeting their needs and desires. The new car features a sporty, contemporary look that appeals to drivers of both genders looking for a practical, highly-reliable vehicle that reflects their outgoing and ambitious personalities,” Jameel said.

 

The Yaris 2018 sets new benchmarks for compact sedans, in terms of driving experience, design and the signature quality and endurance that Toyota is known for. The new model of the immensely popular compact demonstrates remarkable attention to detail in its design and engineering, reflected in a flashy exterior, first-in-class interior design and state-of-the-art passenger cabin. The overall length has been increased by 15 mm, to 4,425 mm, and the overall width of the vehicle has grown by 30 mm, to 1,730 mm. The result is a highly aerodynamic body with a wider and more masculine stance.

 

Cutting-edge design defines the exterior of the new Yaris, with its dynamic angles, sharp headlights with integrated clearance lamps. The front of the new Yaris has been updated with a horizontal grille for a wider yet more aerodynamic appearance. LED daytime running lamps have also been integrated into the shape of the grille for a sleek appearance. Slimmer combination taillights adorn the rear of the car lending the rear-end a unique profile.  From the side, the new Yaris features a distinct character line that starts from the front wheel arch, heads toward the rear doors, with another line linking the door handles to the rear taillights. The addition of the newly introduced Shark Fin antenna adds to the car’s aerodynamic profile.

 

The new Yaris comes in eight distinctive exterior colors, including the newly-developed, Red M.M., and Dark Blue M.M., both of which express a sense of power and elegance. The new Yaris has also been rearmed with newly designed 15-inch alloy wheels.

 

With an exciting and distinctive interior design, the Yaris 2018 offers convenience and comfort wrapped in a layer of luxury.  Simulated stitching from the instrument panel to the front console lends a feel of luxury to the interior, while the front cup holders, equipped with an LED shower light, providing a veneer of hi-tech to the dashboard.

 

Additionally, the central console of the new Yaris has been redesigned to communicate a greater sense of integration. The cabin is adorned with a range of enhanced features, including smart entry & start system, cruise control, Optitron meter and 4.2-inch Thin Film Transistor multi-information display, automatic air conditioning system, and a six-speaker sound system with AUX and USB jacks. The interior is available in two colors: Black which provides a calm, richly modern interior; and the Ivory which makes the interior feel even more spacious and sophisticated.

 

Delivering a dynamic driving experience, the new Yaris comes with a 1.5-liter or a 1.3-liter engine alternative. The 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine generates a maximum output of 97 hp and is mated to either a five-speed manual transmission or a Multidrive 7S advanced seven-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine can churn out a maximum of 106 hp and is mated to the Multidrive 7S to offer a smooth shifting experience with excellent fuel efficiency.

 

As with all Toyota vehicles, safety is a top priority for the new Yaris, which includes a comprehensive array of safety features to protect its occupants, such as seven SRS airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, Anti-lock Braking System, Electronic Brake Force Distribution, Brake Assist, Traction Control, Hill-start Assist Control, high-mount stop lamp, and an enhanced body and platform structure, among many others.
