Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal inaugurated state-of-the-art Radf public park in Taif which has an interactive fountain — the biggest of its kind in the Kingdom and spread over 13,000 sq meters. The fountain has colored lighting and a display screen on water.

The park is one of the biggest projects of tourism and amusement. It has a number of tourists, cultural, educational, social and sports squires in 565,000 sqr meter area. Nearly 50,000 visited the park on Day 1.

The event was attended by Prince Turki Al-Faisal, chairman of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies, Taif Gov. Fahd bin Abdulaziz bin Moammar and other dignitiaries.
Naif Mayor Mohammad bin Abdur Rahman Al-Mukhrij said that the project was one of the major achievements of the municipality to support sustainable development during the development era of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman. The inauguration of the park by Prince Khaled indicates the importance of this national project.

The park shows how to maintain plantation and design home gardens. In the middle of the park, there is a lake which has a number of fountains and water display screen. There are also a number of restaurants, hotels, markets, theater, sitting arrangements and sports complexes. 

Al-Mukhrij said the park has several lawns and playgrounds and a parking area for 1,200 cars, besides 10 complexes for children’s games.
He said that the southern part of the park has a center of sports activities including football, car races, table tennis halls, bowling, billiard, sitting halls, swimming pools, library and health club. There is also a green area with facilities for pedestrians, with beautiful lightings and fountains.

“The amusement and commercial facilities include markets, hotels, restaurants, outdoor and indoor games, parking, museums, exhibition hall, film hall and family meeting halls. The park has models of various historical places of the Kingdom in its gardens,” he said.
