3,000 vacancies to be available in next episode of ‘Jobs on Air’

There will be 3,000 job opportunities for unemployed young male and female Saudis, as well as for foreigners, during the tenth session of “Jobs on Air” on Al Danah television channel on Tuesday night.
“Out of the 3,000, Carrefour has offered 1,000 jobs with salaries ranging from SR5,000 to SR15,000,” said Mohsin Al-Shaikh Al-Hassan, program host and a well-known Islamic scholar.
Al-Hassan added that the remaining 2,000 jobs in different fields will be offered by a human resources firm. The program has received 600 applications from outside the Kingdom.
In an episode last month, the program found 145,000 jobs with Saudi-owned Al Danah network, linking eight local companies with job seekers. Seven firms offered 70,000 job opportunities, while the rest were absorbed by Abdul Latif Jameel.
“To engender the interest of local firms to participate in the program , a reward of SR20,000 will be given monthly to the companies which will hire the most number of applicants,” he said.
He added that the participating firms like Carrefour will not only hire but also rehabilitate and train the applicants.
“Aside from helping applicants get employed, we have also enlisted the support of various groups and institutions which could give loans to young Saudis intending to go into business,” he said.
Al-Hassan said that these institutions will give loans of SR200,000 to SR300,000 to applicants whose feasibility studies will be approved.

This came on the heels of a businessman’s encouragement for young Saudis to go into business. In an episode of the program last month, Abdul Mohsin Al-Hokair of Al Hokair & Tourism Recruitment Group urged young Saudis to start their own business instead of merely applying for jobs.
“We hope that the “Jobs on Air’ program will help reduce local unemployment,” Al-Hassan said.
