1st Edition of The Global Franchise Market Ends on a High Note

The 1st Global Franchise Market (TGFM) concluded today with an outstanding success that was evident with the participation of over 1000 trade visitors and attendees that came to be part in the 1st  official franchise conference and exhibition held in the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

About their participation in the 1st edition of TGFM, Mrs. Aycan Helvacıoğlu General Manager of Medyafors said: “The Turkish brands joining the Middle Eastern Franchise market are worth $30 Billion. We were happy to be at the TGFM with 8 Turkish companies and a total of 30 representatives.”

From his side, Eng. Anas Al Madani, Vice Chairman and Group CEO of INDEX Holding said: “The Global Franchise Market witnessed a remarkable participation from the food and beverage brands this year with a huge number of participants coming from Turkey, UAE, Brazil, Kuwait, US, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, Oman, Egypt, Singapore, Italy amongst many others.”

He continued on saying: “It is evident that the F&B sector in the UAE is booming. According to Euromonitor International, the F&B franchise sector in the MENA region is expected to grow at 7.4 per cent rate over the next four years and there is about 19,000 extra F&B outlets expected in the UAE by 2019.”

From his side, Don Boroian, Chairman and CEO of Francorp International said: "Events like TGFM have proven to be instrumental in pushing new brands into the hands of maximum audiences effectively. It’s a win-win program for all stakeholders to connect, exchange ideas and learn the fundamentals of operating a successful franchise”.

“I am very proud of Francorp achievement and initiatives in the Middle East markets. It won't be long until we see the next big franchise brand from the region becoming a global household name. The biggest obstacle for new businesses unsurprisingly, is that they don't necessarily have the right skills and critical resources required to operate a successful franchise system. Besides having a great concept, franchising demands a sound operating system, financially competitive, and strong people and management skills among many others. Achieving this can be challenging for business owners while shouldering the burden to perfect their prototype. The smart business decision is to work with seasoned professionals like Francorp who can substantially speed up the development process and help avoid costly mistakes". – He added

Running parallel to the exhibition, The Global Franchise Market Conference was marked with the participation of a number of top-notch speakers and international experts in the franchise industry who discussed various topics that included: Women in Franchising, How to Choose the Right Franchise, How to Franchise Your Business, What You Need to Know Before You Expand Internationally, Current Day Challenges in Franchise Sales, The Franchise Legal System, and many more.

The Global Franchise Market (TGFM) Conference & Exhibition is held under the patronage of H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, UAE, and it is organized by INDEX Conference and Exhibition and with the sponsorship and support of Franchise Souq and Francorp Middle East, the world's leading franchise consulting firm.
