NIVEA Soft Cream Surpasses Its More Expensive Competitors in Hydration Performance Testing

The BBC series in one of its latest broadcasts of "The Truth About Looking Good" put to the test moisturizing creams and found out that NIVEA Soft was effective in providing the skin with precious moisture, compared to another, more expensive competitor product on the face care market.

Recently, the BBC put a series of face and body creams through their paces to determine which was the most effective. Three popular products were chosen: one high end, one mid-range and one budget. In news that surprised many, the budget moisturiser, NIVEA Soft Moisturising Cream, outperformed its more expensive counterparts.

The BBC tested the three best-selling basic moisturizers from three different price ranges[1] at UK’s biggest health and beauty retailer. And they stated that the ingredients found in the formula are key for a good performance and a positive effect on the skin condition.

Dr. May Shana’a, Senior Vice President Research & Development at NIVEA explains the importance of the ingredients in the formula: “The skin contains about 64% water, and it needs this amount of water to function properly: to stay healthy, continue to regenerate and defend the body. It has a vital job for human health. With environmental exposure, cold, heat, wind, sun, and time, the skin starts to lose its intact structure, loses water, deteriorates and ages. Therefore, the more we can help keep the water in the skin the better the skin condition will be. Moisturized skin always looks healthier than dry skin.
