Abu Dhabi is gearing up to welcome another unmissable live entertainment experience to the Capital as Yasalam returns, promising to bring a fresh approach and waves of non-stop activity.   

One of the most highly anticipated festivals run by any race host city in the world, Yasalam, offers an unforgettable season of music, fitness, talent and entertainment that lets fans from all ages celebrate the race spirit.

Now in its ninth successful year and setting the benchmark for regional live events, Yasalam 2017 is inviting fans to get involved with a new calendar of events that will see even more activity take place on the home of Yasalam, Yas Island. Fans can expect the trademark high energy Yasalam experience, now even closer to the track than ever before, with heightened opportunities across community and music events that will ensure everyone can make their mark in the Abu Dhabi celebration.

WAVES OF MUSIC

After-Race Concerts, brought to you by du Live! are sure to send the energy in the Capital soaring from Thursday, 23 November to Sunday, 26 November. Award-winning global superstars Calvin Harris and P!nk are gearing up to take the du Arena by storm, each promising to provide an electrifying performance that will leave Abu Dhabi with lasting memories. This year fans are offered even closer access to the on-stage action via the Golden Circle Upgrade, which is available for purchase for the first time, providing race-goers with the best access to the Yasalam After-Race Concerts.

WAVES OF TALENT

Following on from last year’s success, the Emerging Talent Competition has expanded in its third year, now in search of talented artists from across the UAE and GCC.  

During the competition, entrants will battle against one another for the chance to take the stage at The Village, du Arena ahead of one of the Yasalam 2017 After-Race Concerts. Registrations will open on Wednesday 26 July for budding musicians who want to put their musical inclination and ambition to the test. Following the initial competition rounds, the selected ten shortlisted entrants will participate in an intensive mentoring programme where they will be nurtured and coached by leading professionals from the industry.

New to the program in 2017, members of the community will be invited to help shape the competition by voting for their favourite artist. For the first time, an online voting element will open, allowing fans to decide on the musical fate of a new, fourth wild card finalist in addition to the judges top three.  

WAVES OF ENERGY

Launching later this month, Get Driver Fit brought to you by ActiveLife by Daman, will return to provide an even more engaging and interactive environment for Abu Dhabi residents to get in shape. Featuring a selection of workouts such as HIIT, yoga, and driver’s bootcamp, the community classes will offer ample motivation to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.

 

This year, the free fitness classes will be returning to key locations across the city, including, Zayed Sports City, Umm Al Emarat Park and Marriott Hotel Al Forsan, in addition to more Yas Island focused locations including Yas Marina Circuit and Yas Links.

 

Lasting seven weeks, Get Driver Fit will culminate in a fitness festival at du Forum, Yas Island on 10 November, which will include various fitness classes for the whole family, live demonstrations, seminars, a family fun zone and multiple sports activities to take part in. Furthermore, the GDF Challenge, final event of the GDF 7-week program, will take place, where one winner will be crowned and rewarded with an idyllic escape, incentive enough to get anyone moving.

For the first time, this year Get Driver Fit, brought to you by ActiveLife by Daman, will also offer an online registration portal to make getting active even easier. The healthy lifestyle support doesn’t stop there, participants and members of the community can also enjoy do-it-at-home workout plans, healthy recipes and take part in bi-weekly seminars to provide participants with the tools needed to continue their fitness journey once the program has concluded. Additionally, Get Driver Fit 2017 will introduce a new 3D body scan model, which will measure key metrics at the beginning and end of the 7-week program to help participants achieve measurable results.
