Nikki Beach Resort & Spa is welcoming guests to the Bodrum Week in Dubai to experience Turkish inspired dishes, signature Turkish beverages and a real Turkish atmosphere at Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai.

Mehmet Soykan, the Executive Chef at the Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Bodrum elaborated on his culinary background and the importance of Bodrum Week in Dubai in promoting the Turkish culture as well as the future of Nikki Beach culinary world.

Bodrum Week in Dubai will take place between 28th -31st of March at Nikki Beach Resort & Spa Dubai. Guests will experience an array of dishes that cannot be found elsewhere, in short, traditional recipes with a modern presentation and an innovative flair.”

Originally from Bolu, Turkey, Chef Mehmet has harbored a passion for the culinary arts from childhood as he was surrounded by a family of chefs. At the age of 8, he visited the hotel his father worked, and was quite impressed with the white shirt and cheeky chefs.

With more than 24 years of experience, and a list of international awards, Chef Mehmet looks forward to bringing his mastery to Dubai. “We brought delicacies to Bodrum last season when we opened Nikki beach Resort & Spa. Now we want to bring these unique dishes which blends the tastes of the Aegean coast with rich products,” said chef Mehmet.

Chef Mehmet has written two cookbooks ‘Tabahat’ and ‘Tadı Damağımda Kaldı’ that have now won international awards and his culinary career includes some of the finest restaurants and hotels in the world.

According to Chef Mehmet, preparing a meal is like a having a child and it is difficult to make a distinction between them, but of course, every chef has their own secret booklet and special recipes. “I have a few too, but I do not put the recipes on the menu, instead I create them for special guests and treat them,” he said.

The Executive Chef uses strong fresh herbs and scented spices in every dish that he prepares and takes extra care not to spoil the original texture of the product. Chef Mehmet mentioned that attending the annual Nikki Beach culinary conferences help him improve his skills as the team of chefs discuss their ideas for day.
