Unstable weather to continue for five days

The General Authority of Meteorology and Environment has said unstable weather will continue in most of Saudi Arabia over the next five days.

The weather will be foggy and visibility obscured in Tabuk, Northern Borders, Jouf, Madinah, Makkah, Qassim, Hail, Riyadh, Jazan, Najran, Asir, Baha and the Eastern Province, the authority said. It said the speed of wind would reach 60 km per hour.

The authority said visibility would be very low especially in central and eastern parts of the Kingdom. Heavy rain is forecast in Qassim, Hail, Riyadh and the Eastern Province. Asir, Jazan and Najran are also likely to receive rain, it said.

The authority urged the public to stay safe and take caution while venturing out in unstable weather conditions. It asked people to stay updated on weather by visiting the authority’s website or following its social media accounts.

The Ministry of Health asked all citizens and residents to take necessary protective measures against dust. It asked people to stay indoors and only venture outdoors for important errands. People should wear medical masks and keep their doors and windows sealed, it said.

Asthma patients are advised to always keep inhalers with them and to immediately visit an emergency center if the inhaler is not sufficient to relieve their symptoms.
