Boost for higher education

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman approved the formation of an interim committee to manage higher education affairs. The committee, which will study issues of universities, will be headed by Education Minister Azzam Al-Dakhil.


The members of the interim committee will include directors of King Abdul Aziz University, King Saud University, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Princess Noura bint Abdul Rahman University, King Khalid University, Al-Jouf University and Jazan University. At the same time, King Salman approved the appointment of Mohammed bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saleh as general secretary of this committee.


General Secretary of the Interim Committee of Higher Education Mohammad Saleh said the royal step is important as the committee will be responsible for managing ongoing operational issues of universities until the issuance of a new education system. 
“Designing a new education system will be among priorities of the committee. It will appoint acting undersecretaries of universities, restructure some colleges, study the annul reports of universities and discuss MoUs between foreign and Saudi universities,” he added.
