Harvey Nichols, the three-level luxury department store located inside Al Faisaliah Mall in Riyadh, will host a dazzling array of fashion and design items from India during this year’s Ramadan Season.
Titled Ramadan Caravan, and launching for the first time this year, this new concept will see the Harvey Nichols Riyadh (HNR) store transformed in honour of an inspiring geographical and cultural region, which for 2014 will be India.
From 1 July until the end of August, HNR will become a visual celebration of wonderful designs delivered directly from India. A carefully edited selection of fashion, accessories and furniture has been sourced from India and will be available throughout the season. The store itself will be reinvented in terms of decoration, ensuring that the experience of visiting the store delights and inspires.
To produce Ramadan Caravan, HNR joined forces with Mo:hawk Media, a digital company that specializes in curating high-concept lifestyle events. Working together, both companies selected items created by some of India’s top talents and brought them to Riyadh, in order to be displayed and sold at the Harvey Nichols store. There are over 65 featured brands, and they include fashion superstars like Manish Arora and Tarun Tahiliani and successful fashion labels like Pia Pauro and Rashi Verma, as well as famed embroidery designers like Jean-François Lesage and home accessories brands like Fenny G, Klove and Safomasi.
Ramadan Caravan was conceived by HRH Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud and HNR, to introduce different countries and their cultures through an exhibition and sale of products showcased at the department store. Mo:hawk Media is owned by Mozez Singh, a writer, producer and director in India’s TV, film and digital industries, and Anita Horam, a producer, writer, director and creative consultant for TV and digital media. For the fashion selection, Mo:hawk Media has worked with Vogue India’s Fashion Features Editor Bandana Tewari. Mozez, Anita and Bandana will be present in Riyadh for the grand opening and are available for interview, as are several of the designers featured in the exhibition.
