Critical Appraisal Workshop 2017

The Annals of Saudi Medicine under the Scientific Publications Office (Academic and Training Affairs) at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre is going to hold its First Critical Appraisal Workshop on 22 November 2017 (one full day) and repeated on 23 November 2017. The workshop will cover a great range of in-depth topics such as:  

• Introduction to Critical Appraisal
• Why Sample Size Matters? & How to Calculate it Using Online Software Sources?
• Overview of Diagnostic Test
• Overview of Cohort Study
• Overview of Cross-Sectional Study
• Hands-on-Training Experience

Objectives:

The workshop is your chance to:

• Gain the skills to evaluate and critique published papers.
• Develop a keen eye of a professional reviewer.

Date:

The workshop will be a one-day workshop, and it will be held on the following dates:

• 22 November 2017
• 23 November 2017

Venue: King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Audience:

• Physicians, researchers, pharmacists, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, and medical students must attend this workshop.
• It is a pre-requisite in all training programs according to the CanMEDs Guidelines in order to attain the capabilities of the scholar role.

Certificates:

At the end of the program, attendees will be receiving two official certificates as described below:  

1. Saudi Commission for Health Specialities (CME accredited).
2. King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Academic and Training Affairs

Speakers: Expert speakers who have international records in publishing and reviewing research projects will participate in presenting this workshop.

Fees: SR 600 fees.
